Education Section

The section of your resume listing your degrees and schools.

The Education section of a resume lists your formal academic qualifications: degrees, schools, graduation years, and sometimes honors or coursework. For most professionals with work experience, this section is short and sits near the bottom. For recent graduates, it moves up near the top because it's the most relevant credential.

Include your degree (e.g., "Bachelor of Science in Computer Science"), school name, and graduation year. Add your GPA only if it's 3.5 or higher, and only in your first three years out of school. Don't include high school once you're past your first semester of college. If you haven't finished a degree, you can list it as "Coursework in [field]" or specify your expected graduation date.

Example: "Bachelor of Arts in Economics, University of Michigan, 2024 (GPA 3.7, Dean's List)"
