Reverse Chronological
A resume format that lists jobs from most recent to oldest. The standard.
Reverse chronological is the standard resume ordering: most recent job first, older jobs following. It's the format 95% of resumes should use because it's familiar to recruiters, parses cleanly in ATS, and tells a clear career progression story.
In a reverse chronological resume, each job includes a title, company, location, dates, and 3 to 6 bullet points describing your specific achievements. Your most recent job gets the most space because it's the most relevant to hiring decisions. Older jobs (10+ years back) can be consolidated into a short "Earlier Experience" line.
