Executive Summary

A senior-level version of the professional summary, used by directors and VPs.

An executive summary is the summary section at the top of a senior-level resume. It's typically slightly longer than a standard professional summary (3 to 5 sentences instead of 2 to 3) and focuses on leadership scope, business impact, and specialized expertise rather than individual contributor achievements.

A good executive summary mentions your title, years of experience, industry or domain, the size of teams or budgets you've managed, and at least one transformative outcome. It should read like a pitch to the board, not a personal introduction. Avoid buzzwords; focus on specific, verifiable accomplishments.

Example: "Chief Marketing Officer with 15+ years scaling B2B SaaS brands from Series A to IPO. Built and led a 60-person global marketing organization at Acme Corp, driving $80M in pipeline annually and taking the brand to a Gartner Magic Quadrant leader position in 3 years."
