Header (Resume)

The top section of your resume with name, title, and contact information.

The header of a resume is the top block containing your name, professional title, and contact information (email, phone, location, LinkedIn, and optionally a portfolio URL). It's the first thing a recruiter sees and should make it effortless to identify and reach you.

Keep your header simple. Your full name goes in the biggest font — 18 to 24pt. Underneath, list your professional title (e.g., "Software Engineer," not "Job Seeker"). Below that, a single line with your essential contact info. Don't include your full street address, date of birth, marital status, or a photo (at least in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia — photos are standard in parts of continental Europe).

Example: Header example: "Jane Smith / Senior Software Engineer / jane@email.com · (555) 123-4567 · San Francisco, CA · linkedin.com/in/janesmith · github.com/janesmith"
